A new training and operations simulation region, for oil workers and operators, is live in Space.

Jo-Anne Tait and Colin Hetherington from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, are the creators of the region.

The rig was designed to be used in OpenSim as a virtual world training simulator.

The OAR converter was used by Austin Tate, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Applications Institute (AIAI), and Professor of Knowledge-Based Systems at University of Edinburgh, to transfer this educational region across from OpenSim to Space.

Experience what it would be like to work on an oil rig.
